Welcome to Bethel Baptist Church

Let all who seek Thee rejoice and be

     glad in Thee;

And let those who love Thy salvation

     say continually,

“Let God be magnified.”

But I am afflicted and needy;

Hasten to me, O God!

Thou art my help and my deliverer;

O Lord, do not delay.

     Psalm 70:4,5

This is the blog of Bethel Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. Bethel Baptist Church is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention and we hold a “fundamentalist evangelical view” of the Scripture, believing it to be the literal, infallible and inerrant Word of God. This blog is meant as a place where church members and non-members may seek inspiration, exhortation and support. It is an open forum! We encourage participation.

That having been said: Please be civil in your comments. This is a moderated forum, and those comments which seek to insult others or intentionally inflame the discussion will be deleted without posting.

We welcome open and civil discussion about the topics posted. If you read something that you like, or you just feel like sharing, please hit the buttons below the post and share us with your Facebook friends, Twitter followers, etc. It’s all about sharing the Word of God and getting people talking, but to do that, we need your help! Please keep comments in the applicable thread, though. It just makes things easier on the moderator.

This blog will post new comments every Tuesday and Friday. Unless there is a hang-up with the server, or I (the primary author) fail to get the drafts to the editor in time, articles will post at 8:00 a.m. on those days.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and live sensibly, righteously

and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope

and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus;

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed

and purify for Himself a people of His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Titus 2:11-15
